green door what’s that secret you’re keeping?

Can’t believe I forgot to blog the main news of the day 😉

Whilst checking out details of the local theatres summer production for Home ed group what did I spy with my little eye lurking in the side bar of the website?

Yep that’s right folks, in the career lull before he took his rightful crown in ‘Hit me baby one more time’ Shakin ‘Shaky’ Stevens had booked a UK tour taking in the salubrious location of The Assembly Rooms in Worthing!!!

Frankly I feel it is fate that has led us to this destiny. Little did I imagine when I kissed my life sized Shaky poster goodnight every night as a small girl (went a bit overboard on that actually – it got all icky around the nose/mouth bit of the poster and he looked quite deformed eventually) that he would be such a big part of my future blog, that he would enjoy a career comeback and that our paths will cross here in my home town some 20 odd years later.

Having passed down the crown of Shaky-mania to my eldest born it is only right that he accompanies me to this musical feast so donning our best denim jeans and jackets combos, possibly wearing white shoes and blue tinted sunglasses, and singing our hearts out to such classic as ‘Oh Julie’ ‘You drive me crayayayayzeee’ and of course, ‘This ole house’ me and Davies will be there, later this year (just before Christmas actually) – better get busy with my scoubidous to make some sort of ‘we love you shaky’ banner for me and the boy to wave on the night 😉

After the disappointment of not coming to see Will Young or Michael Buble with me I think he is possibly more excited about this than me. But maybe only possibly 😉

  1. ROFL! I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful time!

Wonder if Mark Thomas (disconcertingly also the name of Sarah’s brother I just realised earlier) would appreciate some kind of banner … ?

I knew a Mark Thomas once too….drifts off dreamily remembering him, he was a dj at the nightclub I used to frequent…..
