is what we have been doing, among other things this evening.
Went to the grand opening VIP party at Bonner’s Music this evening as we are friends with the owners 😉 Having never been to the previous site so having nothing to compare it to it was still mightily impressive. Two floors and various rooms filled with more musical instruments than you could shake a (drum) stick at! The main attraction for us was the samba beat type bloke doing a session in the kids area with all sorts of improvised instruments made from stuff like bottle tops, plastic container drums and pieces of wood taped together xylophones alongside stuff like bass drums, triangles, recorders and other percussion stuff (Jenny, when we have enough money in the kitty he is a must for HE group, the kids (and grown ups!) would love him!). So we spent ages in there joining in with the beat creation which was going on and loving it. There were various other things going on like a jazz band and I’m sure Ros will blog more about the evening as a whole but we had a lovely couple of hours before the children started to wilt a little and we made a quiet getaway before they showed us up! 😉 Congratulations Tony & Ros, hope it goes really well tomorrow, you have achieved something to be very proud of 🙂
So what else have we been up to today then? Ady cleaned out my car and has done more tidying around the place and he entertained Scarlett while Davies and I completed a few more thank you cards and got them posted. I gave him free rein to draw whatever he wanted for each one and just wrote down the words of people’s names for him to copy. He did a lovely butterfly for Emma (Bowlzer), a balloon and present montage for Alison & Chris (and insisted on writing all the family’s names on the card too!), a camel for some friends of ours who had sent him money, a couple of portraits of other friends and a really nice fish picture for Ben in return for the really nice fish birthday card which Ben had made for him. As with yesterday’s creations he really seemed to have a mental image of what he was looking to create and the choosing of colours and marks on the paper was all very controlled, measured and deliberate with him coming back to it if he was not totally happy – fascinating to watch.
I cleared out our wardrobe and swapped wintery clothes to the front and summery ones to the back, found something to wear tonight and something for the funeral next week (actually two options depending on weather!), got several loads of washing processed (some clean put away, some wet hung out, some dry brought in and some dirty put through the wash – the cycle continues!) and then after lunch we set off for Eastbourne where we pootled round for a couple of hours stopping for McDs for the kids.
A nice day, with a real end of the holiday wind down feeling to it. Only the weekend left to go before Ady heads back to work to see whether the recent B&Q redundancies and store closures have impacted on his company and his role in any way. A quiet day planned for tomorrow again and then a birthday party for Jack and Maisie on Sunday.
Thanks Nic- to be totally honest it kinda went in a blur for me as I was so busy smiling, serving, greeting and suffering customer abuse ;-). I am so grateful that you came over it meant so much to both of us.
Glad you liked Ed! He is so cool, he is also the guy who teaches Pearl and Leo that Calpileria (can’t remember what it is really called!) martial art dance thingy LOL!
I am now dressed in smart clothes (as in uniform!) to go to work- Sarah I may be joining the family business LOL!
Enjoy the weekend with Ady xxxxx

Can’t wait to see it. We *will* get to see it next month, I hope. I still want me a piano…
