As Layla quite correctly pointed out you can always tell my daughter apart from the other random messy blonde toddlers as she is the one with a facial scab of some description. We had the nose all over Christmas, the chin is still not entirely healed (and has purple scars when she is cold 🙁 ) and she now has a new small scratch beside her nose which she picked until her face was all bloodied while we were in town today.
It occured to me that if she was to get covered head to foot in itchy spots she will still have them when she is about 13 with how long it take stuff to heal up on her as she picks it 🙁
Oh, and just had a phonecall from the friends we were due to see tomorrow who also don’t want to see us now incase of pox 🙁 Guess we’ll be doing some learning this week when everyone else is on half term after all!
Actually, she’s the one you should watch for the infant tiger, with that sore wee face. If the bug was whizzing about the room on a snot raft, then open scratches etc is where it will land, and then if she touches/picks them it’ll spread easily. Not that I picked mine, I hasten to add – they managed to spread all by themselves.

Didn’t mean to depress you. I just meant really that with broken skin, especially on your face, you are more vulnerable to catch it. It gets a very characteristic crust on it – looks exactly like a crumb of a crunchie bar, without the chocolate, obviously. So if you see that, or she has a spreading spot that won’t heal then I’d get it looked at. Both times when Hannah had it years ago, it cleared up within a few days with the ointment. The trick really is the not touching it bit to stop it spreading, and keeping towels, face clothes etc separate. I read somewhere that it needs a 60C wash to kill it on towels.
