but not nearly enough of it for my liking!
A mixed old day today really, up and out early (Tarly did a through the night til 5.30am ish which is a definite improvement – god in what alternate universe did that suddenly seem cause to celebrate then?!) to collect Mum to go into town.
She was on top form, had brought some clothes for Tarly with her, bought me a top while we were out, paid for a pressie in The Works each for the kids, paid for lunch and paid for ice creams 🙂 🙂 So I got a new top courtesy of Mum and then went into my fave clothes shop the Worthing branch of which was closing down and had bargains galore! Bought four tops in there (yes, I know finance blog is being very neglected and with good reason 😉 ) but we are going to a very posh new company launch (details of that after Kessingland!) so will be needing something suitable for Belgravia party!
Davies was totally horrid all day – found myself grabbing him roughly by the arm, putting my face very close to his and yelling at him about his behaviour being appaulling and him needing to sort himself out. Cue much tutting and looking from all around but hey…
TT2 was good if very very very unbearably hot. It was nice to have Mum witness Davies being so confident, social and ringleadering with all his little mates there – and to see how Tarly joined in and he looked out for her among the crowd too.
Back to their house for tea and Ady came there too, the threatened thunderstorms finally rolled in but were nowhere near as impressive as I was hoping for. Davies and I stood on the doorstep watching and muttering to each other about how if we were at home we’d have gone out to play in the rain but we knew that Granny and Grandad would not have let us back in the house if we were all wet!
Home and bed for the small people, I very lethargically packed (over packed big time actually which is what comes of having too many clothes anyway, not being sure of the weather, having people carrier with only 4 passengers so loads of extra space to chuck stuff in and just being Nic generally!), drank lots of wine, ordered a delivery kebab (first one I’ve ever had without being drunk on the verge of passing out and having come out of a nightclub – and this side of midnight!) so decided actually they are yuck! Ady ate all his though!
Planning to leave as soon as possible in the morning – 9am is the plan, 10am probably more likely. Need to stop at Cosco at Lakeside for wholesale supplies of wine, bottled water and chocolate croissants and aim to be there for 1pm ish. Know we can’t access out static til 4pm but can at least be supportive of people with tents, explore a bit and generally get in the holiday vibe – oh and do a food shop too 🙂
See you tomorrow! 🙂
see you tomorrow Nic! Actually don’t think we can set up till 4pm either (must check details actually) but Merry should be camped as she arrived today afaik.
wholesale supplies of wine eh? Wish I drunk it, must get supplies of suitable alcopops so Chris can laugh at me 😉
