It would be more considered and deep but it’s Friday night and I’ve had a lot of wine ;).
At home Ady was here this morning and they did some poultry maintenance (chicks are spending their first night outside tonight and I’m feeling a bit ‘mother hen’ about it all), some wood chopping and some drawing. In the afternoon Dad was here and I’m not sure what they got up to but Davies and Scarlett said they had a nice time. 🙂
I was at work for the day. Banking in the morning followed by some finishing up of my Christmas display then Baby Rhymetime. It was a smallish group today and I sort of winged it without a list of songs to work from. There are twin girls who are about 2ish who have taken a shine to me and both sat on my lap for a while during the session.
My lunchbreak was lovely – a whole hour with two back issues of Heat magazine, two cups of tea and open access to the tin of Celebrations – the Great Christmas Gift Giving has started at the library so the tins of chocolates and biscuits are already rolling in.
In the afternoon I finished my display and spent some time with Abi (one of the senior staff) planning craft activities for a Festive Fun Night next week where the library is staying open for the town’s late night shopping pre-Christmas event.
Home to feed Scarlett (who elected to have a bowl of rice crispies for her dinner, I suspect she’d been grazing all afternoon) before taking her off to Rainbows. They were doing cake decorating tonight and I ended up with a posse of girls around me when one of them (who’d been in the library earlier with her mum) asked me to play with her and I agreed and gradually they all gravitated over to me. Home and Scarlett decided she doesn’t want to hear any more Alice in Wonderland so Ady read her a story in bed and Davies and I read some more Alice.
The wireless network is finally back up and running so in celebration of that I’ve had too much wine on an empty stomach before dinner and now really should go to bed and sleep it all off.
so at some point you’ll get a Rainbow leader name………….? lol
NOOOOO!!! I can cope with the occassional interaction with a few of them at a time but I can honestly think of nothing worse than being an official helper.
What sort of names do Rainbow leaders have? Do they have to commit themselves to one colour and be Mrs Indigo or something like that?
No, that would be better. They have animal names – at S’s there is a Heron, Puffin, Penguin, Dolphin and Rabbit.
At M’s second Rainbows (after the first one closed, where the leaders were called Julie and Shirley) they were called Rainbow Bright (she was about 50 and very ugly, really) Buddy Blue (which is hard to say right when you’re five) Shy Violet and Patty O’Green. I think I’d rather be an animal.
Chloe’s had been flowers so had Rainbow Daisy and Rainbow Tulip
