Taking in real slow

Out of utter necessity – the internet is playing up again. I know there are 13 emails trying to find their way to my inbox but it’s taken all evening for them to crawl across and they’ve not made it yet. Web pages are similarly s l o w but at least I know others have the same problem so it is not something horrible and Nic-related which might cost me money!

We’ve had a nice day today. My ‘plan for the day’ went fairly smoothly. The fudge remains good and I’ll make something to send it in tomorrow before taking it and doing next day guaranteed delivery on Thursday when I have some money so that’s sorted :). I made huge quantities of mince pies, some of which have already been sampled and enjoyed at book group tonight.

Davies and Scarlett both appeared and ‘helped’ at various points but spent most of the day drawing and played. A parcel from New York arrived covered in stamps and containing a load of US candies and treats from a US friend off a forum (secret santa but not very secret given she’s the only one from America!). We looked at that, opened it all up together, tried some of the sweets – I tried and failed to teach Davies how to blow bubbles with bubble gum, Scarlett ate hers 😆 The stamps on the parcel were just so colourful and bright that we took them all off, Davies and Scarlett split between them and then stuck them to blank paper and drew round them stuff they associated with America. Scarlett’s was slightly less identifyable than Davies’ and she did tell me she’d put Big Ben in there and when I said ‘no darling, America, not London’ she replied ‘yeah I know, I did it for fun!’ which made me laugh:
Tarly does America!
Davies did a Statue of Liberty and a US flag and lots of skyscrapers:

Oh and the Wonderpets flying past 😆

As I blogged underneath we watched War Game and I stuck Santa Clause 2 on but it was crap so turned it off again. I started sewing my bag (basic bag is lined and with strap on, just adding lots of embellishments now) and the kids had tea.

Off to book group for me where we talked about Woman In Black and ate seasonal delights such as my mince pies and drank mulled wine. We had another new woman tonight which was good and were all shocked to realise it will be two years in January since the group started .

Home for bath and dinner and a very nice glass or two of red wine kindly given by one of Ady’s clients followed by more bag making as the internet is so slow.

  1. One thing I’m looking forward to in January is seeing the Wonderpets fly across the American sky :-)!

  2. My parents internet is crawling too, I thought it was their crap computer. Ours is fine, maybe it’s the lines or something.
