Rough with the smooth

It hasn’t been a great 24 hours really, with me in tears several times due to generations both above and below me but we’ll write that off as a bad couple of days and move forward to better tomorrows.

I got my new laptop today – it’s a Toshiba U200-161 for any technical types who are interested in such things. It is not as pretty as my Philips one and has a wider screen which I am not dead keen on but in the main it is indeed a new and shiny laptop, still very compact and lighter than the one before so all good. 🙂 It has a rather gimicky but quite fun fingerprint recognition thingy to log on and recall passwords to websits with which makes me feel ever so slightly secret agent / Tomorrows World like so I’m enjoying that (until it goes faulty and locks me out of everything of course ).

I feel like we’ve done very little today although that is of course not true. I read some stories, there was geomag playing, lots of Xbox and pc play and of course I spent hours setting up my new laptop with all my favourite websites and email accounts.

Tomorrow we’re doing a Winter Walk with Julie, Jack and Maisie so that will blow away cobwebs and get us out and about, followed by Badgers for Davies in the evening and then the rest of the week is busily taken care of. And now, worn out by the extremes of the day and with a particularly gripping chicklit to finish I’m off for an early night.
