On a roll!

I am starting to believe I do perhaps have magical powers you know 😆 Today I had a phone call from the CV lady who I’ve not heard from since August – and that was only with 4 CVs for the whole month 🙄 I know their business was far from thriving and thought I probably wouldn’t hear from them again. But she rang to check I was still up for the odd CV or 7, sent me one over by email to do straight away and promised a few more by the end of the week. Hurrah! :-). I also finally concluded I never was going to be reading all those How To Homeschool books I ordered off amazon long, long ago so I listed them on marketplace or ebay depending on how silly the lowest ones available on marketplace already were priced (buggered if I’m going to put books for sale for a penny when the postage makes nothing or sometimes even costs money!) and listed a whole load more outgrown clothes too so hopefully another chunk of that money will be forthcoming in the next week or so. Things are looking up 🙂

I’d had a text from my mate Jim – who sometimes reads this – wave if you’re reading Jim! 😆 yesterday announcing a money making idea to make us millionaires he wanted to talk through with me. So I texted him back today and he rang for a chat. His idea had proven not quite the answer to clearing all our debts when further scrutinised but it was lovely to have a chat anyway and a mutual moan about money. About half an hour later he texted to say his wife had just sold two paintings so I’m clearly spreading it all around! 😆

Last night there was almost constant thunder and lightning from about 3am and at about 4.30am I woke up properly and couldn’t get back to sleep again. I came downstairs for a drink of water, went back to bed and read a book for an hour or so, eventually getting back to sleep around 6am as it was getting light, so I left the children to it and slept in this morning til about 9am. I was full of good intentions to do ‘stuff’ with the children today but they were playing together very happily and self sufficiently with the geomags it would have been mean to interupt them so I left them to it. Mid morning we braved the rain which didn’t really stop all day and went to Tescos. We needed a few bits and pieces so we got those and came home for lunch. They continued to play with geomags and I spent time online and on the phone.

Davies discovered that he could climb out of one side of the lounge window, walk along the windowsill and climb back in the other side. I didn’t see it myself but he very proudly told me all about it 😯 – the window is low inside the house but drops down about 6ft or so outside onto concrete – it would be a nasty fall – not to mention everyone driving or walking past can clearly see my obviously school age child clambering about the outside of the house like spiderman during school hours and could call social services at any moment! 🙄 So he’s been threatened with all sorts of horror stories about ‘what could happen’ and hopefully he won’t attempt that again. Having seen it done of course it is probably just a matter of time before Tarly adds it to her circus skills repertoire!

Tarly has been hard work again today, prompting me to make a threat I had no intention of carrying through (confiscating her dummy) which led to something of a clash of parenting ideas chat between me and Ady. I’m sure that will be discussed further once I’ve sorted out in my own mind just what my stance is on certain things so I can present it to Ady and we can talk about it.

Soft play tomorrow with Julie, Lucy and Em who is staying with Lucy.

One reply on “On a roll!”

  1. you know, it did cross my mind when I was at your house that those windows looked terribly tempting through small peeps’ eyes (or is it just that it’s the sort of disaster I would expect dd to attempt!)
