Noooooooooooooooooo

I currently have one order from Amazon and two from the Book People that I am waiting for. The Amazon one should have been here by now so I’ve just gone online to track it and realised it is being sent to / already has been sent to my old address. In Manchester. 250 miles away. Which is a rented house that I no longer have any contact details for if indeed there are any new tennants. Infact I am hoping that there are no new tenants which will mean it is being sent back to Amazon.

I’ve emailed them as there would appear to be no method of contacting them by phone (grrr!) and am now totally convinced that there are people sitting in my old lounge reading my books paid for with my credit card which I will neither be able to get the money back for or even actually get myself 🙁 Bugger!

And of course what makes it all worse is that it is all my own fault 🙁

  1. Contact the rental ppl? Cos if it’s empty, there may well be just some piles of post kicking about for you. I assume your redirect has well and truly lapsed by now. 🙁

  2. Well I am hopeful I may have sort of sorted it! I rang the letting agents who say the property is now re-let and they will ask the new tenants to ring me. I checked online to track the parcel and it was ‘left in porch’ a couple of days ago. I finally found a phone number for Amazon who say that the parcel needs to be returned to them in unopened condition so they can refund me.
I have re-ordered so I will get my books, but I now need to rely on the goodwill of the complete strangers who are living in that house to a) ring me back and b) when they do be happy to take a parcel to the post office to send it back for me (I did get a freepost amazon address at least). Hmmmm personally i don’t see it happening 🙁 At least it was *only* a 20 quid order. sigh

  3. I would do it too, but I would also have quite possibly opened the parcel and be embarrassed about it too 🙂
I have been trying to get hold of my old next door neighbour who I know would happily go and get the parcel off them and take it to the post office for me, or even Lynda who would also do it for me….so fingers crossed…

  4. What amazes me is that this is your first amazon order since you moved. HOW do you do it? I try not to look when I open Amazon up, and the message on the home page tells me how much i could earn by selling my past purchases. Sighs. I do love book. Especially new ones (I know, I know)

  5. Ha! I wish 🙂 I’ve ordered at least three to this address but been all lazy about changing it properly and just added an additional address. This time I forgot to change it from default and now some bugger in Manchester is reading my teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons and learning to read grass instead of grarse! And as for Book People – think I must average one order a week 🙂
