Halloween Party.

Last year we had a Halloween party here for our two and a few of their friends. We tend to often be away for Davies’ birthday (September) and are definitely away for Tarly’s this year (December) so we plan to have annual Halloween parties for years to come to celebrate both birthdays at once as it’s in the middle. This year Halloween falls on a Monday, which is possibly not the best of party days, so we could either do something on Sunday 30th or if that would rule people out then we could do it on the Saturday 31st.

Depending on who wanted to come along we would either do it here or poss hire a local hall and decorate it spookily. We could put up a couple of families and there might be a couple of other local folk prepared to do the same 😉 also the £10 travelodge offer has Littlehampton which is nearish to us.

So who’s up for it? Where would you stay? and d’you reckon Saturday or Sunday is the better day for the actual shindig?

  1. It’s soooo spooky at Halloween, particularly the way it messes the dates up. We’ll be up for it. TBH not bothered about day – though generally a Saturday is preferable if staying the night in the area. Not sure how we’d stay – being six we’re more of an imposition and not sure a Travelodge would take us all in one room.

  2. That said, you can get rooms for a tenner on the Sunday night *but* not the Saturday.

  3. We could do the Saturday night but not the Sunday (going to CP on Monday) – there are a lot of birthdays around then (Claudie, Alex, Lije) so sounds like a lovely idea.

(C is desperate for a disco birthday – not sure how I’m going to accomadate that one)

  4. Chris, we can easily accomodate the 6 of you- but we are 45 minutes east of Nic.

AND OY! NIC!!!! I was planning a shindig for my birthday!

  5. Yep, like Layla says, we’d been talking about doing something together for Lijah and Claudie, and Alex is slap in the middle of those two, so Kirsty had raised the possibility of making it a triple celebration – we’ll just have it at your house! Perfect 🙂

Layla, I’m sure we can have a disco in spooky fancy dress 🙂

  6. Sounds good to me! Could do travelodge or can squeeze into small spaces 😉 Not sure if James would be there but I’m sure he’d try to wangle it 🙂

  7. Right okay, sounds like Sat is the better night for it then. Portico people you’d be better staying here then (and we’d like you yo 🙂 ) as you won’t get in a travelodge and frankly if you have to travel from where you are its sort of not worth staying really! We can sort out room arangements nearer the time but we were thinking we’d have our kids in with us which frees up their two rooms for smallish families (Layla, Si and C and poss Kirsty and kids and maybe James (be warned we have two cats!)) and leaves the lounge for Chris and Alison and offspring. First come first booked 😉

So mark it in your diaries folks 🙂

  8. Sounds brill – I’ll do travelodge – that w/e is the end of half term here, if that makes *any* difference to anyone …

  9. just re-read it and realised what you meant Chris. I’m sure I typed that right – it really is spooooooky!

  10. sounds good to me and if we could stay that would be great – always one to go for the cheap option!!! Will ask James to check his work rota otherwise will be just me and kids. Although I’m sure he’ll jump at the chance of coming down. He likes my friends 😉

  11. perfect – Claudie loves the idea too – I’ll bring disco lights 😉

Would be luverly to stay over as well 🙂

  12. And don’t forget B’s birthday! (so Kirsty, who did you ask first about sharing birthday celebrations? have we been dropped? 😉 )

Saturday good for us too. (Chris wouldn’t have been able to manage the Sunday.) Can we come? 😀

  13. :p at Barbara. We can have more than one celebratin surely? I wasn’t planning on dropping ours. Although if this is on, I might be more inclined to just doing a birthday tea for Alex with a couple of friends rather than and expensive day out. I’m sure we cansort it out anyway 😉

  14. course you can come Barbara – would be great to see you 🙂 Everyone who reads this blog is invited – although I think we have full capacity for accomodation with Alison, Kirsty and Layla. Will def go with Saturday for the bash and sort out finer details nearer the time.

And Ros, yeah, lets do one a month then eh?! 🙂

  15. So Saturday is the 29th, after all that, anyway, isn’t it? Can we clarify whose birthdays we’re celebrating?!! Perhaps some sort of secret santa type arrangement for pressies would be a good idea? Or people could contribute to a pot then the children whose birthdays we’re celebrating could receive a pressy ‘from your mp friends’ ?? Maybe I’m speaking out of turn here, but my point is I’d love to contribute to pressies but if there are 6? 7? birthdays being celebrated it could get tricky!

  16. Yeah, Sompting, which is a small village along the coast about 12 miles west of Brighton (look for Worthing on a map). Be good to see you…

  17. my rota changing, but if not on call, will be there – back to chris’s old stomping ground!

  18. I’ll be there. Ros – can I see you as well when I’m down to get most value out of the journey?
