Good Morning :-)

I’m up, children are watching The Emporers New Groove, I’ve got dinner cooking in the slow cooker (beef in red wine), first load of washing out, second spinning now, third, fourth and fifth lined up in piles ready to go. Children have had breakfast (Wallace and Gromit stamped toast with peanut butter for Davies, crunchy nut cornflakes for Tarly) and I’ve phoned and got a doctors appointment for Tarly’s stitches removal.

Davies wants to show me a ‘dragon show’ he’s been practising all morning with some toy dragons and I have some CVs to get done. Back with more later 🙂

  1. You do seem to do an inordinate amount of washing. Do you wash everything after one wear? Do you have a teeny tiny washing machine? I probably don’t even average one load a day.

And your doctors are open before 8am? That’s quite impressive too!

  2. Ooh, time’s wrong on my blog – it was 8.57 not 7.57 – will change that.

Washing? Yeah there does seem to be a lot although I don’t do it every single day. Bedding probably once a week, Ady has a clean work shirt every day, most days the children have clean clothes (hey you’ve seen them after a day playing, those clothes couldn’t go back on again!). I tend to get two days out of a top and three or four out of my jeans – copious blood loss on them aside 😉

Children’s PJs get probably two nights wear depending on how messy they are with their breakfast.

We get through loads of tea towels here – probably two most days (no dishwasher so washing and drying washing up) and there is probably at least one towel in the wash most days.

    Doc’s opens at 8am 🙂

  3. I average a load per day 🙂 Beds once a week is four loads alone! As for towels!

  4. Ah, so I should be washing my bedding once a week, that explains a lot…
Glad it wasn’t 7:57, with the reference to Davies having been practising ‘all morning’.

  5. I am not going to comment on the bedding issue. Mine once a week, yes, but my girls absolutely hate changing their beds and I can’t stand the fight (not to mention the utter *crap* that comes down from their beds with the sheets, books, tissues, notebooks full of writing, cuddly toys, pants and socks and other items of dirty washing 🙄 ) so it doesn’t get done that often!

I can still average a load a day though … Alison, your children don’t always get dressed so that might be why you have less washing to do!!

  6. I did say ‘probably’ once a week for bedding. Our’s is most weeks cos Ady changes the bed (and does some bizare mattress turning ritual which is beyond me!) so I just wash the bedlinen. The children are probably every other week or so but I personally just hate dirty beds and as they are still way too young to be doing that for themselves they do get done as soon as I think they need it.

  7. Oh, well the girls are old enough, I remind them every so often and force them less often. Joe’s I do when I think it needs it, and invariably he wets the bed the day after 🙄

  8. I do have one of those Bosch Maxx machines, so you can stuff a lot in it too 😉 Anyway, just let me know if we smell …
