Declutter continues apace

Work for me this morning. It went quick – I spent some dismantling Christmas displays and putting up new ones. I seem to be doing all the displays for January so I’ve changed the junior Christmas one to a junior Winter one complete with snowflakes. I’ve got a NY resolutions one to do and a Stories From History one to do too when I’m in next week.

Ady took Davies and Scarlett to Wildlife Explorers at Pulborough Brooks. Today the theme was tits – as in blue tits, great tits etc. They made masks, did pictures and had a bit of a wander outside bird spotting. They both enjoyed it. Ady had a walk round the reserve (it’s so annoying how it always seems to fall on a morning I’m working). Then they came home for lunch and Ady washed his car, which was how I found them all when I got home from work.

This afternoon we tackled the playroom. I saw we, it was mostly me. Ady bobbed in and out while doing other things and kept removing rubbish, cardboard and paper for the recycling. Davies and Scarlett came in and out to remove things we agreed could be freecycled. They are almost as ruthless as I am 😆 We put away all their Christmas presents and have got rid of so much stuff we fitted everything easily onto the shelves we have. It looks so big and clear in there :).

I’ve listed everything on freecycle and loads of it is being collected tomorrow. Still not taken is the kids tables and chairs but they can easily become firewood (Ady is good at chopping ;)) and some word games and jigsaws that can go to the charity shop on Monday if noone claims them over the weekend. I put out a wanted freecycle post for a pasta machine (Tarly and I love pasta and have wanted a machine for ages and I think we’ll have pasta for table-requiring dinner party) and someone offered to swap an unwanted one for a couple of my items so I’m delivering to her tomorrow morning for the swap to take place :).

Scarlett isn’t well again. She developed a blocked nose yesterday and was really hot when she went to bed last night. She fell asleep really quickly but when I popped in to check on her I found her awake and utterly delirious. She was laughing and giggling and really happy but burning up and all bright eyed and flushed cheeked. She has veered today between fine and floppy. Her nose is blocked and she’s still coughing. We have a birthday party to go to tomorrow afternoon but unless she is well we’ll give it a miss and stay home instead.

Ady and the kids watched some it’s a knockout style show with Richard Hammond which had them all yelling at the telly and then I read a pile of books at bedtime.

Table currently stands clear and empty :).

  1. lol @ that last sentence. Thankfully my table doesn’t often get cluttered up, but that’s only because it’s in a room which is simply the dining room. Crafty stuff gets spread out there but is always put away. It’s my kitchen worktops I have the clutter problem with …
