This morning was punctuated by people calling for freecycle stuff. We left the last few bags on the doorstep and all but one lot has now gone. Hopefully she will call for it tomorrow, if not it can be relisted as there was other interest in it (shoes and boots).
We had arranged to meet Chris and Julie at the beach for a walk at 11am. Obviously as we live on the coast there are beaches all the way along near us and each little area has it’s own feel. Lancing and Worthing are nice enough but quite crowded and seasidey. Climping, where we met is more secluded, a little more ‘wild’ and has been used in filming for various tv shows. There was a digger moving the shingle around to create better sea defenses and it was making sheer drops of banks along the high tide mark.
Partially to distract the children from going in the water and partially because he’s not a proper grown up Ady showed us his beach jumping trick of leaping off the sheer edge and seeing how far you can get. Davies was pretty good, Scarlett just ran as fast as she could down it, Jack and Maisie liked the idea of it but were very nervous. Julie was wearing Lorna otherwise I think she may have had a go,Chris thought it was bloody mental and I was keen and willing but a bit crap at it. Good fun though :).

We found loads of interesting shells, seaweeds including a dead mans finger and some fossils and all got nicely pink cheeked and felt very alive with lungfuls of sea air, the breeze blowing away the cobwebs and the beach jumping getting our pulses racing :). It was a lovely couple of hours in the sunshine :).
We came home via Tescos for a few bits and had lunch while watching Scarlett’s Fox and the child dvd. It is definitely more impressive on the big screen and we were disappointed that there are no decent dvd extras as we were hoping for a making of type bit but we still think it’s a good film.
Tarly did some playdohing, Davies did some DSing and I did some cutting up cards to make baubles. Ady did some chopping up firewood and we all did some watching music tv counting down to the end of the year type shows. The kids had a well timed bath (they were asking what was so weird about kissing a girl and liking it and the next song was the kings of leon one – phew) and then their tea at which point I went to the kitchen and did a couple of hours of baking making two quiches and two lemon meringue pies to bring to Em’s. Also made bolognaise for dinner :).
Bed for the children and given I still have packing to do and am working in the morning I really should go to bed myself.
