A not a lot sort of day today really.
I’ve done muffiny stuff like putting away clean clothes, doing four loads of washing including stuff like towels and bathrobes, got dinner (pasta bolognaise) cooking in the slow cooker and cleared my email inbox.
I took a phonecall from CV Boss Lady asking if I could possibly do a rush job on some for her tomorrow – in one day. She had six and I said I could certainly do three or four, so she’s sending me three. Should be here in the post in the morning and need to be emailed back tomorrow night – will pay for Africa Alive and various crafts next week :-).
The children spent most of the day playing with plasticine. Davies made a Shrek, a couple of Wallaces and a Were Rabbit copying them from the dvd covers. He’s not done Shrek before so I was really impressed with an excellent likeness that Ady recognised straightaway without any prompting when he got home.
I’d semi planned to head outside to the garden at some point but it never quite happened. They watched a couple of films, but very half heartedly and also played with some toy cars for a while. Oh and there was great and lengthy excitement when a bee flew into Davies’ bedroom and they dressed up in their version of protective beekeepers clothing from the dressing up box and chased it round the room with a pot hoping to persuade it to make them some honey! 😆 They also watched some Discovery Kids with plenty of science-y stuff all of which they both love and quote back at any given opportunity.
Early tea for them both as Davies had Badgers and Ady was home in time to look after Tarly. Davies had a great time, as usual. It was tasting German foods tonight, none of which he could remember the names of – sausages and round meat 🙄 so I’ll have to take him to the deli counter at Sainsburys and try and identify whatever it was as he really liked it! Lisa, the leader called me back in to clarify that we won’t be here next week and to tell me ‘what a star Davies is’ – very proud to hear that :-). Badgers is the first thing he is really without any input from me at so it’s lovely to know he is enjoying it and is coming across well. I sat in the car reading my book (loving that hour’s peace on a Monday evening 🙂 won’t be so pleasant when it’s dark of course…) with my windows open and could hear the odd sounds drifting out of the open windows of the hall they are in – really liked hearing 10 children’s voices cheering ‘Come On Davies!!!’ during some game or other they were playing, almost brought a wee tear to my eye.
Back home Ady and Tarly had been doing drawing so I was presented with Tarly’s picture of ‘you, Mummy’.
Tarly is playing in her bed and Davies is lying in his bed having just worked out he can do sums to 10 using his fingers and been told all the various combinations he was yelling out to me were called ‘number bonds’. Ady is doing a bit of work on his laptop – he’s away tomorrow night 🙁 and I’m about to jump in a bath with a beaten up gingerbreadman bath ballistic from Lush I found tucked away in the bathroom 🙂
When I get out I might just post that bit about late nights I have half written in my head.
You should devote some attention on that lovely dh of yours if he’s going away 😉
It’s great how well Davies is doing with Badgers, or rather Badgers are doing with Davies, you know what I mean. Love hearing about it.
LOL at the bee event! Were you tempted to distract them and stick a spoonful of honey in the pot?!
See you Thursday
C’mon, I’ve been waiting up for your late night blogpost …
She must have taken my advice LOL!
